last day in aukland city

@ 03:29 AM (40 months, 2 days ago)

its 5.15pm 25th sept and i have sent birthday wished to my niece carly its her 18th birthday today but she probably hasnt woken up yet!!

its pete last day at his 'essentially men' thing, he comes back exhausted but appears to be 'experientially' getting a lot out of it, from my perspective the fact that this sort of event happens, then out of it the men are invited to mcarry on meeting up a part of an ongoing support network, has to be a good thing for women and children

apparantly men are 'signposted' to go by other men who've done it, brothers, uncles, other family members, workmates, counsellors, Relate and so on........... men who know about it or who have done it... what a way to network and spread the word and for men to take a responsiblility for the personal growth and development of other men

thats a view we are getting from the organisations we have visited here that are doing violence prevention work with men, the men who are doing feel its theirs and other men's responsiblities to support and challenge other men not to be abusive... theres some great stuff happening here and w ehave already packed up and posted a box of resources

so today i have been very cultural ... been to see some more short documentaries and to the art gallery, and had some dunkin donuts

weather has been mainly bright and sunny, when it rains here its likea tropical downfall, the heavens open

tomorrow we leave Takapuna beach to head up north, i want to stand at the tip of the island

im sure pete will blog when he has recovered from his essentally men weekend

its odd to be in spring here while its autumn at home

another odd thing........theres loads of japanese kids here studying, this email place is full of em playing computer games

they call hiking tramping here, and we saw a group of school boys running barefoot in driving rain (imight have already  told you this) but apparantly going barefoot is a kiwi thing

lots of sushi places.... yukkkkkk

im will blog when i can

love

sue

  2. Fans of the iconic VW Golf range will have to wait with bated breaths, as the appearance of the the Golf VI is likely to be postponed. An interview with VW’s head of development Ulrich Hackenburg at the Shanghai Show established that VW’s best seller will not be replaced next spring as per original plans. Apparently, the current Golf V is still selling well and there isn’t sufficient reason to effect a hasty replacement.
However, new VW head Martin Winterkorn was not pleased with the Golf VI’s design and rescheduled the 2008 Geneva Show premiere of the car. He is said to have ordered a complete redesign. The latest addition to Golf’s long lineage seems due for launch sometime in the later months of 2008. According to Hackenburg, the new Golf will utilize an updated version of Audi’s current 160Hp 1.8 Litre plus an amazing Volvo Fog Light and other VW accessories. Turbocharged FSI mill, most likely with a GT badge, as word suggests that VW plans halting the production of the 170Hp 1.4TSI motor due to reliability problems. The Golf VI GTI is likely to use an upgraded version of the current 2.0 TFSI motor. An SUV variant of the Golf is rumoured to be planned for introduction in the new lineup.
